David Bell

Senior Advisor, Australia

David is an experienced business consultant and provides expertise to defence contractors and governments. He works with large and medium defence contractors on a range of complex commercial defence projects in Australia, Europe, India, and the Middle East. In doing so he has developed a breadth and detailed understanding of complex defence matters and their interaction with governments and global affairs. David is based in Australia and western Europe.

Prior to joining CT Group, David spent a decade as CEO of the Australian Bankers’ Association, a role which saw him at the centre of efforts to steer Australia’s banking sector during the Global Financial Crisis.

Most recently David was CEO of the Actuaries Institute, the professional body representing Australia’s actuarial profession.

He has run the corporate affairs functions with large Australian corporates, Westpac, IAG and Telstra, and has held senior roles at Ogilvy, and the New South Wales Government. David has also worked with Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) and started his career as an infantry officer in the Australian Army.

He has served on the Council of the regulator, the Medical Council of NSW, and was until recently an independent director of RSL NSW, the peak advocate and welfare group for veterans.
