Research Practice
CT Group’s Research practice conducts quantitative and qualitative research to solve some of the most complex and pressing problems for our clients. Working alongside our Campaigns and Intelligence practices, we use the CT Way to shape and influence behaviour by identifying key audiences and aligning them with the most effective messages, channels, and spokespeople — an approach used successfully in hundreds of campaigns across the globe.
We deploy a full range of research methods, including community, customer, and stakeholder surveys, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and advanced analytics to generate impactful insights for our clients.
Position Summary
Senior Consultants are responsible for supporting Managers and Directors with the day-to-day running of research projects and programs, taking ownership of project delivery, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Leading and supporting research projects from scoping through to delivery.
- Understanding the scope of work required for projects, contacting suppliers, and conducting feasibility assessments.
- Anticipating project risks and actively seeking solutions.
- Developing an understanding of the CT Way Methodology and applying it across projects.
- Developing research tools including questionnaires and discussion guides.
- Analysing quantitative data using relevant software (Q, R, Excel, etc.) to build an evidence base that supports strategy development.
- Running and reporting on qualitative research sessions including focus groups and in-depth interviews.
- Conducting desktop research to support the development of proposals and reports.
- Creating high-quality client-ready documents including presentations and reports with minimal supervision.
- Drafting proposals, presentations, and client pitches for new and existing clients.
- Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to develop strong professional relationships.
- Ensuring timely responses are provided to clients and managing client expectations effectively.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand current scopes of work, including cross-practice referrals.
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment by acting as a point of reference for colleagues, sharing knowledge, insights, and best practice.
- Keeping up to date with relevant political and industry news and developments.

Qualifications
- 2-3 years’ experience in the research industry or in similar roles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Political Science, Communication, Data Analytics, Marketing, Psychology, Economics, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and techniques.
- Experience with qualitative research, or strong desire to build qualitative skills.
- Interest in Australia’s political environment and shaping campaigns through research.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with tools such as SPSS, Q, R, or Python.
- Familiarity with survey scripting platforms such as Alchemer/SurveyGizmo, Qualtrics, and SurveyMonkey will be an advantage.
