David Hogan-Hern

Global Sector Lead, Defence

David Hogan-Hern is a Director at CT Group, and the firm’s Global Sector Lead for Defence, based in London and working with all our offices globally.

David brings over two decades of experience at the heart of the British Government – in roles spanning the Ministry of Defence, the Cabinet Office and the Foreign Office. As well as deep expertise in defence and international security, he has exceptional skills in strategic crisis management, strategy formulation, and the provision of outstanding advice to the most senior decision-makers in the country.

Immediately before joining CT Group, David served for three years as the Strategy Director at the Ministry of Defence; before that, he was the Director for Euro-Atlantic Security. He also had the rare distinction of supporting two British monarchs as Deputy Private Secretary, during the transition year of 2022.

David has been based in London, Brussels and the Gulf, and has worked extensively with partners across Europe and North America, the Middle East and Africa. He is a graduate of both Oxford University and King’s College London.
