CT Group is delighted to announce the expansion of the Apertus Alliance, an elite network of senior intelligence professionals and business advisors whose multi-jurisdictional expertise offers unique and actionable insights for clients facing strategic challenges.

Launched by CT Group in March 2023, the Apertus Alliance welcomes its newest member, Lieutenant General Pablo Martín Alonso who will join the Alliance from 1 December 2023.

Lieutenant General Pablo Martín Alonso served as the Head of Intelligence of the Spanish Civil Guard between 2004 and 2011. In 2012, he was appointed as Head of Operations, and in 2016 he was appointed as Deputy Head of the Civil Guard. His tenure at the Civil Guard was marked by Spain’s long struggle against the terrorist group ETA, and the group’s announcement of a ceasefire in 2011.

The Apertus Alliance offers authoritative senior counsel globally. This advice is based on an international, coordinated, and methodological approach which identifies, develops, and implements solutions to complex problems.

Founding members are Patrick Calvar, the former head of the Direction Générale de la Securité Intérieure (DGSI), the French security service; and Gerhard Schindler, the former president of the German foreign intelligence service, the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND). The Apertus Alliance is chaired by Eugene Curley CMG OBE, founder of CT Group’s Intelligence Practice and former senior UK foreign service and Bank of England official.
