The Group is now seeking analysts to join our Advisory practice in our Sydney and London offices.




C|T’s advisory practice focuses on providing independent corporate advisory services to clients globally from offices in Sydney, London, Washington, Dubai, Mumbai and Milan. We specialise in deal origination and structuring support; market entry and regulatory strategy; capital structures and funding strategies; evaluation, design and implementation of strategic partnerships; asset sales, divestments and privatisations; corporate due diligence; market intelligence and transactional risk strategy.


We have a detailed understanding of the economic, commercial, operational and political considerations that influence the structure of markets and determine success for corporate and private investors in heavily regulated sectors and asset classes. We bring significant experience from government, investment banking, law, corporate finance and public policy to identify opportunities and structure solutions for our clients.


This high performing team has an opening within the Sydney team at analyst level. Candidates with a corporate finance, economics or legal background who are looking to transition into a broader advisory role with a genuinely international remit are strongly encouraged to apply.


The role

  • Work with a broad range of clients ranging from large private companies, family offices individuals to private equity groups.
  • Be actively involved in business development to grow the business as well as building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the day-to-day responsibility of execution on advisory mandates, including interaction with clients, financiers, legal advisers, government agencies and political stakeholders in Australia and overseas.
  • Conduct detailed desk-top research in relation to markets and asset classes, regulatory environments and new developments, political processes and community sentiment.
  • Participate in market soundings and open source and closed source market intelligence gathering activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of key documentation including commercial proposals, submissions, intelligence briefs, financial models, client presentations, and other reports/presentations.
  • Ad hoc requirement for client site visits and attendance at industry specific conferences.
  • Work closely with staff across C|T Group on other ad hoc tasks or engagements.


What you will offer

You are a highly driven, attentive and intellectually curious individual who is a confident and flexible self-starter with exceptional research, writing and analytical skills. Ideally you have been involved in complex transactions, preferably with exposure to, or knowledge of, the impact of public policy on markets and regulatory environments.

Candidates should be flexible and mature in their approach to office working and should have a desire to develop themselves and others professionally as part of this role. The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • 1-3 years post qualification experience.
  • An understanding of public policy and regulation and capacity to develop a functional understanding of new markets and regulatory regimes.
  • A passion for international business, public policy economics and corporate finance
  • Some experience in research, market/sector analytics, financial analysis and structuring and supporting the execution of complex projects.
  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce (or similar), Law or Economics.
  • Experience working within a corporate, institutional/investment banking or professional services environment would be highly regarded. Experience across other disciplines, such as, management consulting and restructuring, would also be well regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, report writing and presentation skills, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
