Shravan read Chemistry at Kings College London and started his career in investment banking, moving to the energy sector in 1999. He specialised in trade structuring and supply chain contracts into Central Asia, Eastern Europe, the Far East and North America. He has worked with several energy technology companies from R&D phase through to commercialisation, working closely with Venture Capital and Investors. Shravan has spoken as a sector expert at World Bank, EBRD, and UK Government platforms. He currently advises firms on policy, governance and commercialisation of solutions across a range of sectors. Shravan is a Liveryman and Past Master of the Fuellers Company (the Energy sector voice in the City) as well as a Court Assistant of the Blacksmiths Company.

Shravan was elected to the City Corporation in 2018. He has been the City’s lead Member for High Growth Markets, focused on China, India, the Gulf and South East Asia. He has taken a leading role in developing sustainable finance solutions for Middle East and South Asia markets, as they embark on a Just Transition. He was on the Steering Board for the Climate Finance Leadership Initiative, founded by Bloomberg and Tata, as part of the UN Climate Envoy function.

In his ‘domestic’ role at the City Corporation, he has been Chairman of the Planning & Transportation Committee, a Member of the Policy and Resources Committee, as well sitting on the Corporation’s Investment Committee. He has held various positions including, Deputy Chairman of Licensing, Deputy Chairman of Streets and Walkways & Deputy Chairman of the Property Investment Board.
